It arrived here in the southern colonies.<br>

Some email servers apparently decide that emails with one's own
address in the header are spam, and either quarantine them away in
the spam folder and or assassinate them altogether. However I
like Mark's explanation below.<br>

Like Ray, I also saw the original. Perhaps you didn't see it as
there are a heap of config options for the mailing list admin
and one of those is whether you get to see your own posts or
not. You can log into the system and change that setting (don't
ask me for details - I haven't looked after Mailman lists for a
while). <br>
