Hi Nik,<div><br></div><div>Thanks. It's nice to know that people find it fun to play with these repeaters. They do take quite a bit of time to put together and tweak to keep running. These amateur radio based fights are some of the heaviest balloon trains we fly with up to four transmitters on board on two bands... They require twice the equipment in our cars so we can monitor/play with them too.</div>
<div><br></div><div>You'll get to see the trucks in all their glory at the convention after the presentation. Should be a good event, especially for those that make the effort to get out and track the balloon on Sunday.</div>
<div><br></div><div>As Grant has already advised we've changed the 2m frequency to 147.500 in an effort to get away from the APRS transmitter, we're also changing the order in which we fly the train to get a bit more vertical separation between the payloads. Hopefully we can improve the performance for the people out on the edge of its coverage and make it a bit easier to get in. Everyone just has to remember to turn on their CTCSS tones or they won't through.</div>

<p class="MsoNormal">The Project Horus team will be presenting a talk on the
project at the WIA AGM to be held in Mildura over the weekend of May 25-27.
The talk itself will be on the Saturday, however Sunday morning we are going
to be flying the balloon repeater, APRS and telemetry payloads as well. This
will give conference attendees the opportunity to see launch operations as
well as the chase vehicle setups we use to run these flights.<u></u><u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><u></u> <u></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">As this flight will be launching from Mildura, it will also
be the first time the balloon repeater is accessible from 5 states and 4
capital cities at the same time. The footprint will extend to cover
VK1-Canberra, VK2-Sydney, VK3-Melbourne, VK5-Adelaide and the NW Coast of VK7.
The window for contacts covering that footprint will only be ~30 minutes at
apogee. In all, 2,000,000 sqkm of SE Australia will be able to see the balloon
repeater as the footprint will extend to approximately a 1600km
diameter.<u></u><u></u></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Horus (TBA) should lift off sometime between 9-11am AEST on
Sunday 27th of May. (A more precise time will be updated here once final
details are locked in).<u></u><u></u></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The FM cross band voice repeater frequencies on the balloon
for this flight ARE DIFFERENT to Horus 23 so please take note:<u></u><u></u></p>
