The Actual ability to correctly identify myself according to those
ZL regs on my VX-8 prompted me to get a ZL call when I went over
there. Having family over there makes it a snap to do this, and the
no fees makes it a no-brainer when visiting "East Bondi"<br>
<br>
When using voice, compliance is not an issue, it was the fact that I
wanted to use APRS whilst over there that prompted me to get a ZL
license <br>
<br>
Yes, it is a pity that the regulations are so far moved from reality
as to how to acheive the necessary compliance.<br>

you can add the ZL to the beginning or end of your callsign when

I believe the correct form of callsign for a visiting

Ahh, I see they changed it in 2008, so you can visit
australia for up to 90<br>
days at a time without having to get a temporary call -
you just have to add<br>
'VK' to the end of your callsign..<br>
<br>
So I guess he should really be RA1AMWVK-7 :-p<br>
