Ever since getting involved with APRS, I've been used to seeing traffic
drop off south of Sydney for a couple of hours, until re-appearing via
VK1RGI later on.<br>
This could be a very good thing.<br>

<p class="MsoNormal">After many years of living with the “Black Hole”
along the Hume Hwy between Sydney and Canberra, I have just heard that
two new
digipeaters have the green light in the area. VK2RHR-1 at High Range
and
VK2RGN-1 in Goulburn will come online sometime in the coming month or
two.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This should provide pretty much blanket coverage
from Sydney
to Canberra, with the recently upgraded digipeaters in the Riverina -
mainly VK2RWG-1
in Wagga and VK2HLT-1 near Leeton (Soon to be changed to VK2RGF-1)
providing
coverage out to the west to beyond Griffith.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">There are also some talk of some additional
digipeaters up
towards Narrabri – but this is still in the early stages.<o:p></o:p></p>
