Hi Mal,
yes, tnx fer info on QRG and tones. I am aware, but my SCS DSP Tracker Modem is using center 1500Hz for Robust Packet and 1900/2100Hz tones for FSK300 Packet.
So by tuning the rig to 10.147,30 I can cover both modes at same time.
Unfortunately nobody runs a Robust Packet Mode iGate in VK.
Robust Packet Mode would be much more reliable, since it will accept 800Hz frequency drift and is a 50Baud OFDM signal, similar to some PACTOR modulations.

However, I have seen there is also VK8JG-5 active on 30m.

BTW: do you also know the 40m hfAprs Frequency?

Hi Mike

For standard 300 Baud with the following audio pair 1600/1800 you should be on 10.147.60Mhz (not 10.147.30Mhz as mentioned).

I was running somewhere between 50-70w into an Outbacker (taped whip).

Cheers

Mal

G`Day Mal,
tnx fer ur info.
This sound really promising!.
I will operate HF-APRS from Broome along Gibb River Road on 10,147,3 USB in ROBUST PACKET Mode and in traditional 300FSK mode.

Hopefully these IGATES are still active.
Please contact me via Winlink if my signal is OFF-frequency...

What was your antenna and power from ur mobile?

Hi Mike

The following iGates were all active on 30m in June, when I travelled from Darwin to Kalkarindji and back.

VK8KMD-10
VK6LD-4
VK2OL-5
VK4MQ-4
VK4AB-4
VK5THB-4

There are no doubt others, but these ones gated me, on the above trip. (I have once been gated via a European iGate.) For the area that you are going to, I suspect that VK8KMD-10 will be the main provider, we will watch with interest!

Cheers

Mal
