SO, ideally you'll be looking for a base at least 700km and no more than 
1500km from your location

that is probably Adelaide

you want to keep highest freq possible to minimize frequency dependent QSB

running predictions using ASAPS7...from Adelaide.

Now if you start at 2030UT , that will be about the earliest 10 MHz will 
work. 20UT in the north, 21UT n the south

It should be good until at least 0830UT in the south  maybe 0930UT in 
the north.

Between 09Z and 21Z, IE the dark, and early morning you probably want to 
change over to 7 MHz.

If you want a 3rd freq switch, suggest changing to 20m  from 0 UT until 
07UT.
