If I remember the APRS spec correctly, the SSID (in the range 0..15), is coded as 4 bits of the transmission packet, not three bytes (e.g. “-“, “1” and “5”).

 

“Portable ZL” in the beacon comment is the way to go here.

I thought it should fit, too, but not accepted. I've programmed the
text "portable ZL" into the TinyTrak thing, and the OM is trying to
program the Yaesu.
