Apart from UI-View being ancient and un-supported (Mandating deletion of all the source code in your will? WTF?!?!!), using existing, well-tested software is always a better option.
Go look at more modern alternatives to UI-View, please. There are many out there. I'm a fan of YAAC [1] , which is cross-platform and gets regular updates. It'll even run on a Rasbperry Pi.

That is not how an igate is supposed to work. What you are doing there is generating packets from your own callsign, with the off-air data as the packet contents.
An igate is just meant to add qAR,CALLSIGN onto the end of the path, and pass the packet onto aprs-IS. Go look at the raw data for just about any mobile station on aprs.fi<http://aprs.fi> for an example, and go read the
You also appear to have asked this question before on the TAPR mailing list in 2013. The response in that thread was 'why reinvent the wheel'.
It appears to be surprisingly hard to do igating right, and as a result many igates mangle packets in numerous interesting ways. The author of aprs.fi<http://aprs.fi> has written a post on the common problems here: https://github.com/hessu/aprsc/blob/master/doc/IGATE-HINTS.md
