Hi Owen,
Your comment on RHR vs AMW is interesting - but could it be explained if RHR
was "busy" at those times when YMC was beaconing?

I tracked Micheal in both directions of his trip and was in contact via SMS
along the way. I am very impressed with the performance of the unit. FIY
it is running the latest firmware with the audio fix and 2 letter call sign
fix too.

Hi All,

An interesting track this afternoon from VK2YMC-8 who appears to be flying
Canberra towards Brisbane and from his beacon contents is using an APC510
(an inexpensive little hand held tracker).

The track has been excellent, you can look at it aprs.fi or alternative.

I have captured log data from my receiver and note that from the time of
take off until no more packets were heard directly by VK2AMW-1 or VK2RHR-1,
I heard 294 packets, of which 54 were first repeated by RHR (ie heard direct
from the tracker), and 134 first repeated by AMW. It is hard to reconcile
the difference as the track was west of both stations, and at all times was
closer to RHR.

An interesting experiment... well it was to me anyway.
