[OZAPRS] DK7INs firmware for TT

Hello All,

Some folk are persevering with early TT firmware that has only a fixed
beacon rate. Problem is that if it is set short enough to be useful when
travelling, it creates a relatively large volume of traffic for a
non-moving tracker. For example, one station within earshot of Sydney is
received here 1200+ times in a day... and he isn't moving.

Rolf, DK7IN, produced firmware for TT compatible tracker hardware, and
it can beacon at a rate dependent on speed and directional change.

Whilst it is not as good as the latest TT3+ firmware with a $40+ price
tag landed in Australia, it is a lot better than the basic TT1 firmware,
and it is free thanks to Rolf's work. (This is the firmware that ships
with Foxtrak.)

You can read more about it at http://www.dk7in.de/TinyTrak_e.html .

I have created a variant which is locked in 'smart' mode (ignores SW1)
and the sense of SW2 is reversed so that on a tracker with no switches
or links for SW1 and SW2 this runs 'smart' and at the fast rate option
(no soldering required).

It loads onto 16F84A PIC chips. Lots of hobbyists will have the means of
burning a 16F84A, and then it is configured as described on Rolf's page.
You can download the 'simple' version hex file from
http://owenduffy.net/files/DK7INs.hex.

Time to update some of those older TT?

Owen
