Hi Kev,

I think a fill-in would be a worthwhile addition to the network - go  
for it! I doubt that the extra traffic from operators in the area  
would cause congestion on the net.

In October each year, WICEN sets up a temporary digi at Wisemans Ferry  
for the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic (HCC) event, because of the poor  
coverage in the area. This event, by the way, operates mainly *off*  
the main APRS channel because high event traffic would cause headaches  
for non-WICEN APRS users.
