[OZAPRS] [wxsvr-au] Changes at the Bom

Hi Warren.

 

Yup - I've been aware of the changes to the VK2 areas for a while, but could
never find anything definitive until your link came through.

 

It's going to mean some significant changes to the WXSVR server to make it
work with the new areas, the main change being a new set of shapefiles needs
to be found and compiled..  Since BOM don't make them publicly available it
could be a while before we can 'fix' WXSVR up to use the new areas..  And if
VK3 is also changing it may be better to hold off and see if we can do both
states at the same time.

 

I'll look into what I can do to change things in the short term (it seems
the current warnings are still triggering the correct VK2 areas) but no
promises J

Hi WXSVR-AU team,

I have seen a report that indicated the BoM was going to change its forecast
area in VK3. This also coincides with CFA changing it s Total Fire Band
districts.
Of course I cannot find where I read it :(
However looking through the BoM's news area I did turn up an item talking
about changes to the VK2 forecasts.
