All,

A bit OT but still AR and aprs related.

I'm an Exetel users and I'm generally more than happy with what I get
for my $$$

Recently (maybe a couple of weeks) I've been unable to connect to
f6bvp.free.fr and I put it down to a problem at the remote site. Today I
communicated with With Bernard F6BVP and he seemed surprised.

I conducted numerous test from here with both Linux and WinXP Pro, and
both Firefox and IE. All resulted in being unable to connect. I don't
use a firewall on the Linux machines and it's not a Cookie issue.I
remotely logged on to the local community radio station and was able to
connect out to f6bvp.free.fr via their Internode account. Ok, the remote
site is functioning.

I ran traceroute (tracert in Windows) and both Linux and Windows
machines baulked at the same point -
bzn-9k-sys-p.intf.routers.proxad.net (212.27.58.125). I posted the
result of traceroute to Exetel.

I logged a fault with Exetel who want me to change my IP address and
report back. (Exetel users get a fixed IP address which they can change
online, without ISP intervention).

I really don't want the inconvenience of changing my IP address so I
asked Vince VK2CVR (also an Exetel user) to try a connect to
f6bvp.free.fr. Same result, no connection, Vince advised he's been
having problems for about 6 weeks.

Exetel have been advised of another customer with the same problem but I
expect they will still insist I change my IP address.

Would contributors to this list who use Exetel please try to connect to
f6bvp.free.fr and report back to this list with either success or failure?
