Thanks for the response Peter,
         I wasn't aware I couldn't use APRS as an F call. I checked  
the frequency against the foundation licence but I assume APRS breaks  
the 'no encoding' aspect? I've now disabled TX and apologise to the  
Brisbane APRS community for unnecessarily pestering the local  
digipeaters. On the bright side, this gives me some incentive to move  
up to the standard licence.
