Hi David,

What settings are you using in the TT3 for HF ? .. You have to be a bit 
carefull using smart beaconing on HF as you can inadvertantly generate a lot 
of traffic under some situations.
Have a look here , if you havnet allready, 
http://vk3.aprs.net.au/tt_settings.htm . It gives very conservative 
settings, while possibly still not ideal, It'll ensure you wont beacon too 
often.
In the TT3 example the digi path isnt quite right either .. probably best to 
use GATE,WIDE2-1
