David,

You beat me to it. Now that there are three stations spread about a bit 
I was going to suggest you have another look at 20m.

Regardless of the outcome, I still think that numerous Igates on the 
three band would be a belts and braces approach.

 I haven't had a close look yet but the figures I fed into the IPS 
Grafex propagation tool for Birdsville in June make your figures look a 
bit optimistic, even though 7MHz was better than higher frequencies. 
Maybe there'll be 25 hours in tomorrow.
