[OZAPRS] TT4 Switchable?

Guess I'm a bit slow at this time of the day. I suppose the other side of the
switch is used to power the TT on and off? I use a second switch, mounted up
front near the LEDs, so I can force a beacon easily.

A bit lost here with these Primary/Secondary/Off positions. I thought we were
simply making or breaking to switch between Primary and Secondary. What's the
difference between Off and Primary? Just to add to the confusion though, I did
use a DPDT switch and included a red and green LED in the front of the car so's
I can see which config I'm on. This after more than one occasion of driving all
weekend, seeing nothing on return home, then finding I'd been on the wrong
config. All I have to do now is to remember to put the lock on the 706 so I
don't inadvertently knock it off freq! Cheers Roger VK7ARN

Hi all,

Just conferring with Gordons comments. I use a TT3 in the Landcruiser and
managed to install one of those very small DPDT switches into the original
plastic case .. Twas a bit of a squeeze though !! .. .. So I have 300bps HF
on the down position of the switch .. VHF 2m on the up position of the
switch .. and (obviously) the off position is the switch in its centre
portion. Note that I set the switch to fully up for VHF and fully down for
HF .. ie, VHF being the higher frequency than HF hence the switch in the up
position to run VHF APRS .. Had to create some sort of a convention so I
could more easily prevent myself from beaconing 300BPS all over 2m and visa
versa !! .. ( Not really enough room to put labels on the box and they'd be
too small to read anyway)

Regards .. Andrew .. VK5EX
