[OZAPRS] VK2RGL-1 (CabbageTree Mtn) now operational

Geoff geoff at gatwards.org

Just had a call from Shayne up at Forster, and we've confirmed that all
IGate traffic originating from VK2INT-5 is indeed being seen and being
digipeated via VK2RGL-1. In fact VK2RTZ-1 at Sugarloaf is almost full scale
on a handheld at the site, which is great news.

Shayne also confirmed that between CabbageTree and the north where you were
Shaun is a notoriously 'rough' area for signals from RGL, so your coverage
out there makes perfect sense. Anyone driving up the highway should expect
a dropoff in coverage just before Taree, and then the sigs pick up again
into Taree itself. At least for the 2m voice - be interested to see if the
APRS sigs are the same.

Regards,
Geoff VK2XJG

[OZAPRS] VK2RGL-1 (CabbageTree Mtn) now operational

Finally, with me looking like a goose trying to juggle the 13 ele beam on
a piece of conduit and keep and eye on the S meter in the car. Power was
50 watts.

I have reconnected the 5/8th on the car just to make sure my accessing RGL

was not a function of the sunset.

Shaun makes a very good point - any coverage is better than none.
