I seem to recall a famous race whereby the vehicles had to negotiate a
desert, I think, using GPS etc, however the vehicles had to make their own
decisions as to which way they went.
So not quite the same as your proposal, however you may be able to get
some ideas. Anyone remember what it was called? Seem to remember it had
a fair amount of money attached for any one whose vehicle completed the
course.

I was thinking of making a vehicle that can tell me where it is and what
velcocity it has, and be commanded to move in a partcular direction.
I would use LINUX to make decisions on which way to go. And issue commands
back again
Anyone tackled such a project ? Boats Planes or Cars ?
