G'day

Your thoughts are correct on the design. The diagram is actually looking
down on top of the antenna so the feed is on the vertical wire. Above the
diagram is says "top view looking down"

I am a little confused, this web site shows feed the loop at the top gives
you vertical polarisation ? This does not sound correct ?
