[OZAPRS] New Digi in SEQLD VK4RRH-1

We have installed our APRS Digi at Radar Hill, Nambour today.  It is using
an 828 and Tiny2 TNC connected to a mag mount antenna at 7m high.  We will
be installing a folded dipole at about 30m early in the new year.  Due to
the excellent location it is performing extremely well with the mag mount.

 

It is configured as a fill in digi using Wide1-1 as its only path, in an
attempt to cover the Sunshine Coast north of Maroochydore where VK4RX-1 is
not accessible.

 

The 15 min beacon is only broadcast locally and will not be gated to the
net, this is an attempt to reduce traffic.

 

We will be monitoring RF traffic over the next few weeks to see what
effect
it has on the network.
