"Badly hacked", eh?  Wouldn't it be easier all around to use software that

does not require extra layers to be installed?

You cannot glue on security as an afterthought; it must be built-in.

A dynamic IP address?  Yep, and get yourself blocked from a good chunk
of the world's servers...
