[OZAPRS] Anybody seen this out of ui-view ?

Yep
Looks like your modem is in wrong mode and/or speed.
Got that a lot when I was trying to kick start a KPC3+ on the system. 
Had a hell of a job getting the PC to talk to the modem as it was in 
wrong mode and/or wrong speed. Had to use the floppy disc that came with 
the modem (think it was PACTERM) to get it into correct mode and speed 
then it worked OK with UIVIEW except its operating period before locking 
up got shorter and shorter. In the end the modem died and wouldn't even 
light the DCD LED on signals. Obviously the modem was faulty to start
with.
Have had similar problems with a PK232MBX and a DSP2232. Got the same as 
you on the screen. Solution was not to let the modem get into Host mode 
on exit as it causes difficulty getting going again on UIVIEW. I had to 
use my PC PAKRATT software to get them going again and uncheck the "Host 
mode on exit" command before I could get them working on UIVIEW. The 
help files in PC PAKRATT state that leaving in Host mode on exit can 
make it difficult to start the modem with other software.
