[OZAPRS] Hobart APRS on 80m

Hello Scott and others on 80m .. I heard and gated a beacon from you last
night before 2100 local I think.. I left the home station VK5AH beaconing
via the GATE onto 80m every 1/2 hour .. Also the Gateway beacon would have
been there..

I got a incomming message from you "Test message" at 01:13 local so you
must
have been up late playing..

Nothing else heard on 80m at this stage. I saw that a VK2 station was
going
to have a go but nothing here..

Its unbeleivably noisy (suprise suprise) on there for 300Bd packet ..
I will put the gear back on there again tonight after 2100 local if not
earlier..
Back to 40m now for daylight hours.

Further to the info posted for the test on 80m.



The equipment being used is as follows.



Yaesu FT-847 - PK-232MBX

Running 100w from 7am - 11pm (local Hobartian time!) then only running 15w
overnight (bedside touch lamp!) dial frequency is 3.622.490 usb so the
mark
frequency will be 3.624.600 +/- and the space frequency 3.624.800 +/-



Those using 1600Hz -1800Hz tones will need to be on 3.623



At this stage I am gating all vhf traffic that my station (VK7HSE-4) digis
locally onto 80m this is running 24/7
