[OZAPRS] Aprs Server Question

G'day,
It's the weekend!!!!!!! :)

A brief question for the server types.

  I'm connecting to first.aprs.net.au:14580 with the extra logon  filter 
m/300. this should show stations within 300km of my qth, no? OK it 
appears to work. I get another frame from the server  every 20sec...

Whats the purpose of this frame? Every 20sec 24/7 eats a little download 
allocation, any idea how much? It's something I didn't allow for!
