VK2XCI-15 is now operational on a very experimental basis on 7.036Mhz
lsb. Reports are solicited, esp re spectral quality! There is no need to
be nice!!!

FT-107M running about 25 watts to a short vertical.
AGW packet engine with soundcard modem
UI-view16 V2.39
PII-300 Dell box.

FB Ron 3WRM and Richard 3JFK,
I see you both regularly on 7.036 and manage to decode most times.
Haven't seen any mobiles but do see some packets which are off freq. for
AGWPE. Also seeing/hearing someone with what sounds like "alternator
whine" or a badly splattered signal

A number of things are glaringly obvious
1.. AGWPE/soundcard are too critical for HF operation! The soft modem is
just too unforgiving.
2.. Ditto FT-107M. The frequency resolution is 100Hz, which is OK 'cause
thats the freq. stability spec :( .It's *very* old technology with
nary a PLL to be seen.

Just now see VK5AH and some-one tuning up!

I'll leave it on while-ever I'm in the shack... it requires my constant
presence to keep it on frq.
