Gday all,

Im just letting everyone know that Im heading up into the North West of
Western Australia next week holiday'ing. Leaving Adelaide on Sunday the
6th
of June and returning sometime in the second half of July for a total of
around 6 weeks or so. Our planned route will take us due north to Alice
Springs, then NW accross the Tanami , up into the Kimberly area, Gibb
River
Road etc. and then finally into Broome. We will probably head back via the
great northern HW and then back down the Stuart HW to Adelaide sometime in
the latter half of July.

Keep an eye out for VK5EX-11 as Ill be running APRS mobile where possible
on
30m - 10.147600 Mhz USB.

Ill also expect to listen on the APRS frequency as well whilst mobile, so
if
you are seeing direct posits from me then why not give me a voice call and
then we can QSY down the band a bit to 10.120 or whatever.

I will be using a IC706Mk2G radio @ abt. 50 watts, terlin outbacker, a
tinytrak 3 , magellan 315 gps. Because I cant easilly change bands whilst
mobile ( In fact its impossible unless your a stunt man !! ) Ill probably
sit on 30m most of the time anyway, either on the APRS frequency of
10.147600 USB or 10.120 USB for voice.

It'll be very interesting to see what 30m offers ( or doesnt offer !! )
with
regards to HF propgation over this path during the trip.

I will also have a laptop on board, capable of running UIVIEW with MIXW32
with a soundcard interface, and USB GPS module, which I may run up from
time to time so I can see what, if anything, is going on.

Regards .. Andrew .. VK5EX
