Firstly it should have been Findu can't find me.. My typo ..

Bob B has made a few Comments.. Like
"I believe there is a tendancy "down under" to DIGIPEAT
ISS and PCsat packets over onto 144.39 FIRST so
that then they can get into the IGate system. As I have
said over and over, that doesnt work for the APRS-IS"

Correct.. I know of only one Igate that is fed direct off air at present
in
VK in VK3..

Unfortunately Bob Australia isnt the USA .. Not to many of us have the
money
to run perminent feeds to the net as we are only doing this stuff as a
hobby.. ADSL in this country is getting started but all the providers are
charging for bandwidth usage beyond a certain monthly limit which is
really
easy to exceed by connecting to a APRS feed.. Australia isnt plastered
with
Igates yet either.. The same may apply to our friends in ZL land ..

I understand why my Posits are not showing up on the ARISS web page..
Thats
life.. I need to have a * in there against the RS0ISS-3 to signify the
digi..

I cant tell Steve Dimse how to write his web page but I sure would like to
know what machine is pulling out the * from the path..

So why is the * missing ?? The frame was legitimatly digipeated by ISS
otherwise sombody else must be using the ISS callsign.. What process or
machine is pulling out the * ?? Is this being done on FINDU itself ?? Have
a
look at my D700 posit on the terestrial channel.
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?VK5AH-9 the digi Bit seems to be
maintained on that on the first digi ..

Bob B has had some interesting points and I must agree that the PCSAT
heard
web page is a bit of a mess.. The biggest problem Ive seen there is that
stations are showing up on there which have RS0ISS-3 in the paths when you
check them and dont appear to have gone through PCSAT at all .. Also
(which
maybe one of the same type problems) is the fact that stations seem to be
on
the heard list and yet seem to maintain the same SSID when QSYing back to
the terestrial channel.. Personnally I use separate SSIDs for Sat work
Mobile work and Home station to name only 3.. These points apply to ISS as
well as PCSAT ..

I started this discussion and a few basic questions have come out .. Lets
see and try to get back onto the thread.

1. Why I dont seem to get onto the ARISS map page .. We have got that one
worked out now.. Steve Dimse Bob B and comments from ZL

2. Why is it so hard to get a posit through to Findu at times even though
it
appears to be hiting the Internet feed .. We still have not got our
heads around this one yet.. Or have we ??

3. Why dont we get ACKs back to RF from the national server on port 10153
VK/ZL feed for EMAIL type messages?? Still no ideas here ..
I thought like others that if a message or ACK for me came across the
feed then I should get it out locally to RF.. Not so ..

I still beleive 2 and 3 are separate issues as said previuosly .. All
these
issues are not new .. Ive brought or tried to bring them up before but it
allways seems to end in a big dunno .. This time I aint giving up so easy
..
