Hi Darryl,
At the moment we are using the normal packet frequency on 144.725 in
Gladstone and Rockhampton.
The location of the digis does not give good coverage around Gladstone,
particularly the major highway north-south and the coast for yachts.
VK4RGA
is well inland. The coverage in Rockhampton is good as VK4RAR overlooks
the
city from a great height. However, we need to move to 145.175 rather
quickly
as the normal users are opposed to APRS traffic. (Interestingly there is
less than 10 minutes of other traffic a day so the network is idle most of
the time).
I have been monitoring 7.035 and 10.1476 for this week and have only heard
the 3my beacon twice and nothing else. I have not been transmitting on
those frequencies. I still have to build the TX interface.
I am using agwpe and the sound card utilizing UI-VIEW for HF.
Cheers
Ron
