G'day all, Happy New Year,

Finally, and with perseverence, I've got my home station operating on 30
metres. The combination of TS-50 and MFJ-1278 took some time to get on
the correct frequency - it wasn't as calculated - but it's working. The
dial presently reads 10.14796
USB. The MFJ tuning indicator tells me this is where it needs to be and
succesfully decoding tends to confrm that.

I'm hearing and painting: VK3MY-3
                                     VK4DMI-1
                                     VK3BYD-14
                                     VK4BBS-11

The distance of these stations varies from 458km to 973km. All are at good
strength (usually 9+); the antenna is a simple inverted V at about 40ft
at the apex. I don't particularly care for the commercial station which
appears after dark (at S9+40) however. This means that listening is a
daytime exercise only.

Thoughts/dreams of going mobile persist.... For the moment however, it's
too hard (and expensive).
