The other option may be to query on the callsign's address (assuming it's
a
person and not a repeater), and use address rather than postcode..  Then
you
can match that up to the person's phonebook listing, so you have the
lat/long of the phone exchange they're connected to (I love my blackpages
directory.. ;)... - then you're not likely to be more than 10-15km from
them.. :)
